The popular series “Presumed Innocent” is coming back for another round, yet one notable character from the initial season will not return to play his part again.
As a passionate movie enthusiast, I’d rephrase it like this: In the gripping Apple TV+ drama, I found myself playing the role of prosecutor Tommy Molto, who was determined to ensure justice was served for the alleged murderer Rusty Sabich, skillfully portrayed by Jake Gyllenhaal (Dopesick, The Batman).
Most viewers saw the character in a negative or opposing manner. However, actor Sarsgaard defended Tommy, stating he was simply a solitary individual and a good person.
Despite the announcement last month about season 2, it seems he won’t be returning to the same role since he doesn’t appear keen on reprising it. The upcoming season might follow an anthology style, with a majority of fresh characters.
Sarsgaard expressed to IndieWire that he doesn’t show much enthusiasm for sequels. He mentioned that he has only worked on a single season of any project, suggesting that he might be more suited to one-season engagements.
In elaborating on his leadership, he shared: “Occasionally, I tell my children this, perhaps I’ve accomplished around 90 or 100 distinct tasks over the years, ranging from movies, TV series, and stage productions. I like to say, ‘I am proficient in greeting and parting.'”
“It’s quite meaningful to part ways, as it forces you to seek fresh sources of motivation and adapt. People often inquire if I’ve gained or lost weight, or grown a beard – these are the changes they notice.”
“I’m consistently engaged in a variety of tasks. If I were repeating an activity, I would find myself frequently revisiting the same areas.”

It was thought that the actor could potentially be easy to work with, since he’s actually the real-life brother-in-law of Jake Gyllenhaal, who stars in “Presumed Innocent” and will continue his involvement as an executive producer during season 2.
But alas, if these latest comments are to be believed, fans should not get their hopes up for more.
