As a seasoned movie reviewer with a penchant for royal dramas and a soft spot for behind-the-scenes stories, I must say that “A Very Royal Scandal” promises to be an intriguing watch. The series, based on the real 2019 interview between Emily Maitlis and Prince Andrew, offers a unique perspective into the events leading up to the interview, the interview itself, and its aftermath – all of which sent shockwaves around the globe.

Cutting the small talk, he then asks Maitlis how she thinks the interview went.
She replies, “I found it quite open, didn’t you?” he queries. “Absolutely, absolutely. I’m glad if so. I truly value the opportunity to… to be frank, it was a gamble, but no, no, I believe we both sensed it.
With a clear expression of happiness, Maitlis responds “certainly”, and suggests that he should depart – however, not until Prince Andrew expresses his gratitude to her and shakes her hand. “Thank you, Emily,” he says eventually, as Maitlis maintains steady eye contact with him before exiting the palace.
Maitlis assumes a role as an executive producer for the latest Amazon Prime Video series. This project follows closely on the heels of Netflix’s own movie adaptation of the interview series, titled Scoop.
