Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Adorable Family Tradition Revealed!

Meghan Markle is loving her family time as much as ever.

Over the weekend, the Duchess of Sussex described a favorite tradition she cherishes spending with her spouse, Prince Harry, and their children Archie (who is now 5 years old) and Lilibet (aged 3).

Meghan shared with the Godmothers Substack in their March 7 newsletter that she highly values spending her Saturday mornings watching cartoons while cozying up under the covers. In the U.K., they refer to this as a ‘duvet day,’ which she finds endearing. Our family enjoys these lazy, comfortable mornings together, followed by pancakes and bacon – a dream come true for us.

And the As Ever founder loves to incorporate her kids in her other favorite activities, too.

She went on saying, “I truly enjoy making flower arrangements. It’s not a skill I inherited from my childhood, but arranging flowers is a delightful pastime that I can become deeply engrossed in. It stimulates my creativity, gives me the opportunity to physically work with something that enhances beauty, and links me to nature.

The 43-year-old mentioned, ‘It’s even more delightful because my children are also assisting me with preparations.’

Besides creating memories with her children, Meghan also cherishes the customs she used to practice with her mother, Doria Ragland, during their time together in Los Angeles.

She admitted to having an affinity for scoring great bargains too. This trait might stem from her childhood memories of clipping coupons from the Sunday newspaper alongside her mother. The thrill of purchasing items at reduced prices or finding discount codes online never fails to give her a sense of victory.

In the midst of juggling parenthood to two young children, managing her business, and premiering her Netflix series titled “With Love, Meghan“, the former Suits star has also prioritized time for her relationship with Prince Harry. They often engage in what they call “day dates” and “nightcap recaps”.

In her interview with People on March 12th, Meghan shared that she believes parents going through this stage with similar-aged children are well aware of the ‘rinse and repeat’ cycle. She also mentioned that she and Harry enjoy watching the TV show ‘Shrinking’.

Regarding their upcoming viewing schedule on “nightcap recap” TV, she mentioned, “We’ve recently completed watching Black Doves. We’re eagerly waiting for the new season of The White Lotus.

In her interview with People on March 12th, Meghan expressed that many parents at this stage with children of the same age can relate to the phrase ‘rinse and repeat’. She also mentioned that they enjoy watching the TV show ‘The Shrink Next Door’.

Regarding their upcoming viewing schedule on “nightcap recap”, she mentioned, “We’ve just wrapped up watching Black Doves. We can’t wait for the new season of The White Lotus.

He stated to Sky News in 2015 that it wouldn’t be feasible to rush such matters; they would occur naturally when the time was right. When asked about the birth of his niece Princess Charlotte making him consider settling down, he expressed a desire for children at that moment, but acknowledged there is a procedure one must follow before becoming a parent.

In the past, Meghan also made a special purchase considering her future daughter. She confessed to Hello! in 2015 that she had always admired the Cartier French Tank watch. When she learned that Suits was renewed for our third season – a significant achievement at the time – she couldn’t resist treating herself and bought the two-toned version. She had it engraved with “To M.M. From M.M.” and intends to present it to her daughter in the future.

The topic of fatherhood, much like marriage, has always followed closely behind Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana’s younger son. In an interview with People magazine in May 2016, just prior to meeting his current partner, he expressed ambivalence, saying “At times during life, particularly when we travel abroad, I think, ‘I wish I had kids now.’ But there are other instances where I dig my heels in and think, ‘No need for children!’ There’s no pressure. I’ve even had moments that made me hesitant about having children.

2017 saw the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announcing their engagement and granting their first joint interview. As an ardent fan, I can only imagine the excitement coursing through my veins as they discussed the possibility of starting a family. In that moment, Prince Harry shared, “Indeed, we’ll take things one step at a time, and hopefully, in the not-too-distant future, we’ll be blessed with a family.” Meghan was there by his side, her smile radiating the anticipation we all felt.

Meghan expressed wonderment upon becoming a mother with Archie’s birth. She found it incredibly wonderful, and given that she has the two finest men around, her happiness is immense.

After Archie was born in May 2019, Harry expressed, “This experience has been more wonderful than I could ever have imagined. The strength of women never ceases to amaze me, but we are both completely delighted and deeply grateful for the love and support from everyone. It’s all been so incredible that we wanted to share our joy with everyone.

During his speech at the National Youth Mentoring Summit in 2019, Harry pondered on the valuable lessons he’s gained since becoming a parent. He emphasized, “Today, I find myself particularly aware of something significant – the impact of unseen role models. The individual here today might not realize that someone admires them and draws inspiration from their actions to become kinder, more accomplished, and more influential.” Further, he expressed, “As a father, I’ve come to understand that my son is constantly observing me, learning from my behavior, and possibly aspiring to emulate my path in life.

Our primary focus is on our little one, but after that, our work becomes our top concern. We’re simply doing all we can to contribute positively to the world,” Prince Harry explained during a public appearance in 2020.

Harry and Meghan discovered a positive aspect during the coronavirus pandemic through their baby Archie. In Meghan’s words from October 2020, “We are fortunate to have this time to witness him grow, as we would otherwise be traveling and working more extensively if not for COVID-19. We would miss out on many of those precious moments. So, it has been a lot of quality family time.

I excitedly exclaimed, “Not only were we present for Archie’s initial steps, but also his first stumbling attempts to run, and every precious moment in between!

In May 2021, Meghan appeared uncommonly on television during Global Citizen’s VAX Live: A Concert to Reunite the World. During this event, the ex-actress discussed her pregnancy and expressed her eagerness to raise a daughter. She stated, “My spouse and I are overjoyed at the prospect of welcoming a daughter soon. We share this happiness with countless families worldwide.” Reflecting on their upcoming child, she added, “When we imagine her, we think of the many young women and girls globally who should be granted the opportunity and assistance to guide us into the future.

I’d like to emphasize that the choices and actions we take today are instrumental in shaping the leadership of tomorrow. It’s about laying a foundation for a prosperous, inclusive, and empathetic future, not just for them, but for all of us.

Meghan briefly appears in her husband’s Apple TV+ show titled with Oprah, called “The Me You Can’t See“. In this episode, the Californian seems to honor her expanding family by wearing a shirt that says, “Nurturing Tomorrow”.

On June 4th, their little girl, Lili, was born to the couple. On their Archewell Foundation page, they expressed, “On the 4th of June, we were blessed with the arrival of our precious daughter. She surpasses all our expectations and we are immensely grateful for the love and prayers we’ve received worldwide. Thank you for your ongoing kindness and support during this extraordinary period in our family life.

On June 8th, 2021, Meghan is set to unveil her debut children’s book titled “The Bench.” This book offers a unique perspective on fatherhood, as seen through a mother’s eyes. In a statement released in May, she explained that the story originated from a poem she wrote for her husband on Father’s Day, shortly after their son Archie was born. The poem then evolved into this heartwarming tale.

Back in October 2021, I penned a heartfelt missive to esteemed representatives Rep. Nancy Pelosi and Sen. Chuck Schumer, expressing my unwavering backing for enacting compulsory parental leave in the United States. As I beheld the arrival of my precious daughter amidst the ongoing pandemic chaos that disrupted the normal flow of life at hospitals, schools, and beyond, I was simultaneously elated and swamped with emotions.

She expressed that, similar to many parents, we weren’t faced with the painful dilemma of either staying with our newborn during those crucial initial months or returning to work. Instead, we had the option to bring our baby home, which allowed us to dedicate all our time and energy to our children and family during this important (and significant) phase. By making this choice, we avoided the heart-wrenching decisions about childcare, employment, and medical care that so many are forced to make daily.

Meghan went on to say, “It shouldn’t fall on any family to grapple with such dilemmas. No family should have to weigh their income against their ability to care for a child (or a relative, or themselves, which is what we envision under a complete paid leave policy).

In April 2022, on the day known as TODAY, Harry mentioned that combining his parenting duties with working from home was virtually impossible.

In my professional opinion, I find myself intruding on video conferences more frequently than most, and it seems to happen quite regularly too, which is an interesting quirk.

Harry observed that his son was beginning to exhibit a similar mischievous wit as himself, which he intended to nurture. “I strive to maintain that trait,” he stated. “I believe that a touch of impishness can add vitality to one’s life.

Meghan admitted she was concerned for her—and everybody else’s—kids in the age of social media.

During the Archewell Foundation Parents’ Summit on Mental Wellness in the Digital Age, which took place in October 2023 as part of Project Healthy Minds’ World Mental Health Day, she emphasized that being a mother holds the greatest significance in her life, second only to being Harry’s wife.

She continued, “I want to mention that I consider ourselves lucky because our kids are still quite young, so we don’t have to face these changes right away. However, I must admit, I’m apprehensive about how things are evolving and the impact it will have on us in the future.

As a parent, Meghan observed that life moves quickly with each day seeming prolonged yet years passing swiftly. In this context, she went on to express her concern about how everyone, including herself, is impacted by the digital realm and social media. Ultimately, she expressed her desire for everyone’s safety in these spaces.

During a trip to Lightway Academy in Abuja, Nigeria in May 2024, Meghan addressed a group of kindergarteners, saying “Our daughter, Lili, is incredibly small compared to all of you.” She continued, “Lili will be turning 3 soon. Not too long ago, she looked at me and saw her own reflection in my eyes. She said, ‘Mama, I see myself in you.’

As she spoke so directly, Meghan emphasized, “Yet, in my mind, her words took on a profound significance. It struck me, ‘Indeed, I resonate with you deeply, and it seems we recognize ourselves in each other.’
