Prince Joachim Makes Rare Comment After Kids Stripped of Royal Titles

Prince Joachim of Denmark is thinking about the future.

Two years following his relocation to the United States after his mother, Margrethe II, revoked the royal titles of his children Nikolai (age 25), Felix (age 22), Henrik (age 16), and Athena (age 13), the 55-year-old shared thoughts on possible future moves back to their homeland, discussing potential plans.

Joachim shared with TV2 during an interview that he yearns to return home, yet he also keeps open the option of remaining overseas.

As I find myself engrossed in my current three-year stint with the Danish Embassy under the Ministry of Defense, I, Joachim, father to my adult sons shared with my ex-wife, the illustrious Countess of Frederiksborg, and my younger children with my beloved wife, Princess Marie, can’t help but keep an eye on our future. When this assignment concludes, we’ll undoubtedly make our way back home.

In the summer of 2023, Joachim, along with Marie and their two children, moved to the United States. This transition took place several months after Queen Margrethe announced that all of Joachim’s offspring would no longer be referred to as prince or princess for the purpose of modernizing the monarchy.

According to a statement in September 2022, “Her Majesty The Queen desires to establish a setup that allows her grandchildren more freedom to chart their own paths, minimizing constraints from the unique responsibilities and obligations linked to being part of the Danish Royal Family as a structure.

In her own words during that period, Margrethe expressed, “As a queen, it’s my responsibility and wish to adapt the monarchy to suit the changing times. Making tough choices is part of this duty, and finding the ideal time to make them is never easy.

In 2024, the 85-year-old queen relinquished her role as monarch, ending a 900-year-long tradition. Her eldest son, King Frederik X (older brother of Joachim), then ascended the throne.

How are Joachim’s children adjusting to living without their royal titles? He explained to TV2 that each of them is occupied in their own unique way. His children are engrossed in school, where they relish the opportunities to be intellectually stimulated and expand their social networks, while he focuses on his work.

Joachim added, “We cherish our small, close-knit family unit, and we strive to find a balance between our responsibilities and spending quality time together. It’s not always easy with work, education, and homework, but we make it work.

Harry commented, “My father has a great deal of power and influence, and it’s possible that he could help resolve this situation. However, he doesn’t need to interfere directly. Instead, it might be best if he lets the professionals handle things and continue with their work.

Even after years of disagreements, he’s raising a truce flag, aiming for harmony. He also mentioned, “Life is valuable, I’m not sure how many days left my father may have.

About a year following King Charles’s announcement of his cancer diagnosis, he penned down on April 29th that his health journey and cancer treatment have highlighted the most remarkable aspects of human kindness.

For every diagnosis or new case, it will undeniably be a challenging and sometimes terrifying journey for the affected individuals and their loved ones, as expressed in the booklet for the cancer resource reception. As an ardent admirer, I’m deeply saddened to share that Graham Craker, who had the honor of safeguarding the esteemed royal family, including the captivating Princes Harry and William, took his final bow at the tender age of 77 in April.

Craker was there among the group when they found out that their mother, Princess Diana, had passed away, and he took part in her funeral ceremonies.

In 2017, Craker shared with The New York Post that he was positioned at the back of the hearse. At that moment, William turned and recognized him. Craker then gestured towards him and gave a nod. Frederick Prince, the offspring of Prince Robert and his spouse Princess Julie, passed away on March 1 at the age of 22, following a prolonged struggle against PolG mitochondrial disease, a seldom-encountered genetic affliction.

In a statement, Robert expressed that Frederik is like a Superhero to him, our entire family, numerous friends, and an incredible number of individuals worldwide, largely due to his PolG Foundation. He added that one of Frederik’s extraordinary qualities was his knack for inspiring others and leading by example.

 

In a historic turn of events, I, Duke of Sussex, successfully reached an agreement with News Group Newspapers, the publisher behind The Sun and the now-defunct News of the World, on January 22nd, following my lawsuit in 2019. This legal battle was instigated due to the alleged unethical activities of their journalists and investigators, who were said to have illegally gathered information about the royal family.

The agreement stipulated that the company would provide a significant compensation, along with a sincere and clear apology to Harry, in addition to publicly admitting “the extensive media attention and severe invasion of privacy not only in his personal life but also in the private life of Princess Diana of Wales, as reported by NBC News.

On January 14, it was announced by the Princess of Wales that she has achieved remission following her full course of cancer treatment.

She expressed her sense of relief after entering remission, continuing to focus on healing, and shared this sentiment through a post on X (formerly known as Twitter) on January 14. One thing that’s understood by anyone who has faced a cancer diagnosis is the challenge of adapting to a new way of life.

She went on to express enthusiasm, saying, “I’m excited for a satisfying year coming up.” And there are many exciting things to anticipate.

In a heartfelt manner, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, grieved over the passing of her cherished rescue beagle, whom she welcomed into her home back in 2015, prior to her union with Prince Harry.

On Instagram, she posted on January 7th: “I’ve shed so many tears I can’t even count them now – tears that lead you to step into the shower, wishing the water streaming down your face could magically erase them, or make them invisible. But they’re real, and it’s alright if they are.

Meghan expressed gratitude for all the years of selfless love, affectionately calling him ‘Guy’. She went on to say that he had enriched her life in ways that he might not even realize.

 

As a lifestyle expert, I’d like to share a heartfelt sentiment. Tragically, Edward “Ed” Pettifer, who was connected to our royal family as the stepson of Prince William and Prince Harry’s former nanny, Alexandra Pettifer, also recognized by her nickname Tiggy Legge-Bourke, became one of the victims in the New Year’s Day terrorist incident that shook New Orleans.

William expressed his shock and sadness over the death of Ed Pettifer, stating this on a post to Kate Middleton’s Instagram Stories on January 4th. He conveyed that his thoughts and prayers continue to be with the Pettifier family, as well as everyone else who has been affected by this devastating event.

Previously from the “Suits” series, who deactivated her personal social media profiles just before marrying Prince Harry in 2018, launched her independent Instagram account on January 1st.
