Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Has “Well Over” 2 Million Players, Says Ubisoft

Despite initially modest sales, Ubisoft’s game Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown boasts more than two million players, as stated in a recent tweet. This Metroidvania-style game can be found on Xbox One, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch platforms.

It’s been rumored that the game has sold more than 1.3 million copies by January 2025. This could be due in part to its availability on platforms like Ubisoft+ and PlayStation Plus Extra/Premium, which might have boosted the number of players currently engaged with it.

It’s worth noting that The Prince is said to be “back” and “still getting started,” which might lead one to assume it’s a sequel hint. However, Abdelhak Elguess, a senior producer, clarified that the team has shifted their focus to other projects. Although they have moved on, given the positive reception of The Lost Crown, there’s always a possibility for future developments.

Ubisoft might be hinting at the upcoming remake of “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time,” set for release in 2026. This new version will feature reimagined levels and battle systems, as well as an updated portrayal of Farah’s character. Could we see a reveal or announcement soon? Only time will tell, so keep an eye out for updates!
