Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake Team is “Still Deep in the Game,” New Artwork Revealed

It’s been confirmed by Ubisoft that “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake” is due for release sometime during Q1 2026. However, since its initial unveiling in 2021, there haven’t been any new gameplay previews or trailers. Despite this, Ubisoft Montreal recently shared on Twitter that they are still actively working on the game, focusing on exploration, construction, and ensuring the storyline is moving with a clear purpose.

The statement also guarantees fans that the remake is being developed by a passionate team who are putting their heart (and plenty of coffee) into every detail, which doesn’t suggest an imminent reveal or news, but it does feature some breathtaking fresh artwork.

As a dedicated fan, I’ve been eagerly anticipating updates about the remake, even without a new trailer to feast my eyes on. Yet, it seems the creators have been busy sharing other exciting details! We now know that the game will sport redesigned levels and combat, which sounds promising. Notably, Ubisoft Toronto (the team behind “Watch Dogs: Legion” and “Far Cry 6”) jumped on board as a co-developer last year.

In addition to these developments, Michael McIntyre, the game director, has shared that the core storyline won’t alter. However, he hinted that Farah will be more prominent in the remake, with increased interactions between her and the Prince. This piece of information definitely fuels my excitement for what’s to come!

The character will undergo an improvement to become a significant one, but she won’t be playable. Most of the fresh content will be optional, so fans should not anticipate numerous extra scenes added to the game.
