As a movie buff with a keen interest in social issues, I find Prince William‘s new ITV documentary, “Prince William: We Can End Homelessness,” to be a compelling and heartfelt endeavor. Having grown up watching Princess Diana’s tireless efforts to address various societal challenges, including homelessness, it’s inspiring to see the next generation of royalty carrying on her legacy.

In his latest ITV documentary titled “Prince William: We Can End Homelessness,” Prince William draws motivation from the activism of his mother, Princess Diana, regarding the issue of homelessness.

The two-part documentary chronicles Homewards, an ambitious five-year initiative by Prince William, which seeks to demonstrate that homelessness can be eradicated. It begins by focusing on six areas within the United Kingdom as its launching points.

The show offers exclusive and unparalleled insights into the prince’s life, featuring seldom-seen glimpses of him handling business affairs amidst a critical situation, while he gathers his committed Homewards group.

In the preview of the upcoming documentary, Prince William mentions that he’s drawn some ideas and advice from his mother’s actions, especially regarding homelessness. He ponders about how he can make a difference in his position and effectively use his influence.

“I don’t believe we should be living with homelessness in the 21st century,” he adds.

In another promotion, he emphasizes: “It’s crucial for us to make an effort to shift and address the public perception about homelessness.

“People live with it, we see it every day in our lives, that’s something I want to challenge.”

The two-part documentary showcases the Prince’s experience, from serving holiday meals at a homeless shelter to a heartwarming journey encountering individuals grappling with or on the edge of homelessness throughout the United Kingdom. It delves into their exploration of potential answers to the homelessness predicament.

The prince shares heartfelt stories from personal interviews about how his mother initially exposed him to the harsh realities of homelessness, an experience he now passes on to his own offspring.

Additionally, the documentary incorporates conversations with ex-England soccer player Fara Williams, fire department leader Dr. Sabrina Cohen-Hatton, and television host Gail Porter, all of whom open up about their personal struggles with homelessness. It also highlights stories from people and families who have faced homelessness directly.

Prince William: We Can End Homelessness will air on ITV1 and ITVX from Wednesday 30th October.
