It was widely believed that “Professor Layton and the New World of Steam” would be a multi-generation game designed for the upcoming Switch 2 console, and now the developers at Level-5 have confirmed this assumption.
In the latest Nintendo Direct presentation, we received a sneak peek at the upcoming instalment in the beloved puzzle-adventure series, which Level-5 has titled “New World of Steam”. They’ve revealed that this game will be available simultaneously on both the current Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 when it launches later this year. However, an exact release date has yet to be announced.
In addition to Professor Layton and the New World of Steam, which is set to launch on the Switch 2, a variety of third-party games have been confirmed as well. These include FromSoftware’s The Duskbloods, Elden Ring, Cyberpunk 2077, the Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, Split Fiction, Star Wars Outlaws, and many more. Simultaneously, Nintendo has announced a number of first-party titles for the console. These include Mario Kart World as a launch title, Donkey Kong Bananza set for release in July, and Kirby’s Air Riders scheduled for 2025.
