View Urgent ForecastFor approximately four years now, IO Interactive has been working on a new James Bond game known as Project 007. While specifics about this game have remained scarce over these years, it appears that the company is getting ready to share more information soon, as development seems to be progressing positively.
According to IO Interactive CEO Hakan Abrak, in an interview with IGN, while the studio isn’t quite ready to discuss Project 007 just yet, development on the game is progressing exceptionally well. He also mentioned that more details will be revealed soon, although he did not specify the exact timeframe for this reveal.
He shared, “I don’t have new details to share today, but trust me, I’m eager as well to discuss it soon. Rest assured, we’re moving forward according to our plans. The progress in production has been fantastic, and we can’t wait to reveal more about it. Although I didn’t provide much information this time, there are many exciting developments on the horizon. We are equally thrilled, and when we’re ready, we’ll be unveiling everything.
In another part of the interview, Abrak repeated various details that IO Interactive has previously disclosed about _Project 007_. He discussed their goal to develop a Bond character specifically for gaming, complete with a fresh origin story. Remarkably, this could lay the groundwork for a potential new trilogy.
In the previous year, Abrak characterized “Project 007” as the “peak of spycraft dreams,” and emphasized that it would offer a “more structured encounter” in contrast to the open-ended gameplay found in the Hitman series.
The job postings hint at the possibility of the game incorporating open-ended narrative elements reminiscent of the Hitman series, as well as combining first- and third-person perspectives in its gameplay.
