PS Plus Getting New Day-One Release This Month

Sony’s PlayStation Plus subscription provides multiple methods for subscribers to experience games without extra fees. For Extra and Premium members, they gain entry to the Game Catalog, an expertly selected collection of new and classic games suitable for both PS4 and PS5 gamers. This includes the highly praised title “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor ” which will be accessible on the service starting February 18th. A much-anticipated adventure game is also set to release on the same day, exclusively for PlayStation Plus members upon its global launch.

During the February 2025 PlayStation State of Play, it was announced that Dont Nod’s upcoming ‘Lost Records: Bloom & Rage’, a narrative adventure game filled with nostalgia from the ’90s, will join the PS Plus Game Catalog on February 18th. However, there is a condition attached to its release. The entire game won’t be available right away, as the developer has decided to split it into two parts. “Tape 1” will be released next week, while “Tape 2” follows on April 15th. Don’t worry, PS Plus members, because “Tape 2” will also be included in the games lineup for April at its launch.

It’s worth pointing out that only PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers can access the Game Catalog, so if you’re a basic member and want to play ‘Lost Records: Bloom & Rage‘, you’ll need to upgrade your subscription.

In a description from PS Blog, Dontnod’s latest tale unfolds in a picturesque part of Michigan in 1995, home to the seemingly tranquil town of Velvet Cove. Nestled between thick forests and peaceful lakes, this location combines natural beauty with an air of strangeness. The game is set to a dreamy soundtrack of nostalgic ’90s tunes and ethereal vibes. Join four high school girls as they spend their defining summer, strengthening friendships through their punk band and shared experiences, including a mysterious event that will alter their lives forever. Explore two different timelines – 1995 and 2022 – to uncover the pieces of a larger puzzle. Discover the secrets they uncovered back then and understand why they’re reuniting now after 27 years. As you navigate through this place, try to recall the vivid memories that have remained elusive for nearly three decades.

The game “Lost Records: Bloom & Rage,” which was initially slated for release in 2024 during The Game Awards 2023, was later delayed due to a need for additional time to refine the game before its upcoming launch on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. This delay allowed “Life is Strange: Double Exposure” to have more spotlight, ensuring a brilliant performance. The shift in schedule also granted the developers ample time to polish “Lost Records: Bloom & Rage” before its launch.

Over the last few years, Don’t Nod has been exceptionally productive. In the next three years, they will release their fourth game, Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, an impressive feat given the usual length of game development. They started off in 2023 with Harmony: The Fall of Reverie and Jusant. In 2024, they released Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden.
