PS Plus Will Bring Two Classic FromSoftware Games to Europe for the First Time on PS5, PS4

One standout advantage of Sony’s dedication to classic PlayStation games within their PS Plus Premium plan is that several vintage titles are making their debut in Europe through this service.

Last year, Level-5’s critically acclaimed strategy game Jeanne d’Arc, which is renowned in Japan and North America on PSP, was released on PS5 and PS4 outside these regions. Now, Armored Core: Project Phantasma and Armored Core: Master of Arena are set to debut internationally next week.

Originally released by Sony worldwide in 1997, the mech-based game from FromSoftware, however, none of its subsequent titles were introduced in Europe at any point.

Indeed, all three games have remained somewhat challenging to play internationally on modern consoles. The first game was initially launched on the PlayStation 3 in Japan and North America, but it never appeared on the European PlayStation Store. On the other hand, the subsequent two games were exclusively released in Japan on the PlayStation 3.

It’s uncertain at this moment, but it appears likely that each of the three titles may be sold individually on the PlayStation Store. This means you won’t need a PS Plus Premium subscription to purchase them. However, whether they will come with Trophies is still undecided; we’ll have to wait until next week for more information on that.

In summary, despite the occasional delay in new releases, this manufacturer’s attempt to bring back classic games on contemporary systems, enhanced with user-friendly updates and accessible worldwide, is truly commendable.

It’s important to give credit where credit is due, as it’s all too easy to overlook the great work being done around us.
