Earlier today, a PlayStation 5 trophy hunter momentarily speculated they had found proof of a Microsoft Flight Simulator adaptation. A fresh Trophy list was detected by PSN Profiles for “Flight Simulator 2025“, leading enthusiasts of the widely anticipated Xbox port to think that the PlayStation 5 version was imminent.
It’s possible that, following reliable predictions, titles such as Microsoft Flight Simulator, Halo, and Gears of War might appear on PlayStation 5 by the end of this year. However, what emerged from this Trophy list was just another instance of the AI “Eslop,” a copycat program that has been prevalent on the PlayStation Store for several years now.
2025’s Flight Simulator on the PlayStation Store may show Grizzly Games Limited as the developer, but according to a statement made by Paul Schnepf, one of the developers at Grizzly Games, their name and logo are being used inappropriately within the listing.
Additionally, they appear to embody values completely at odds with ours, and what we strive to offer in the gaming community. Sadly, our limited legal resources as a small, two-person indie team make it difficult for us to address this issue directly. However, I strongly believe that such practices should be halted, given that they’re not only affecting us but also many other indie developers who lack the same legal muscle.
It seems that the game Flight Simulator 2025 on the PS Store might not be from the genuine Grizzly Games. Eurogamer discovered a website called Grizzly-Games.com which offers mobile games created using AI, but when you click the links, they don’t lead to the expected destinations. It’s plausible that this listing could originate from this questionable source, rather than the legitimate Grizzly Games known for creating Thronefall for Nintendo Switch and PC.
It seems that last month, Sony may have removed some AI-generated games from their digital store. However, the recent addition of Flight Simulator 2025 featuring AI artwork and being uploaded by a company pretending to be someone else indicates that the issue of AI-produced content masquerading as original work is still prevalent.
