Sony’s iconic gaming console, PlayStation, is preparing to release a remastered version of a beloved PlayStation 1 game in the near future. This movement has led to the re-release of classics such as Resident Evil 2, MediEvil, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon, Suikoden 2, Tomba!, and numerous Tomb Raider editions on PS5 and PS4. Beginning on February 4th, 2023, Sony’s PlayStation will make available the remastered version of “Pac-Man World Re-Pac” in their online store. First introduced on PlayStation 1 in 1999, the original “Pac-Man World” was a popular favorite among fans. Notably, it spawned two sequels: “Pac-Man World 2” in 2002 and “Pac-Man World 3” in 2005, both of which were released on PlayStation 2. In 2022, Bandai Namco Entertainment decided to reintroduce the first game in this series as “Pac-Man World Re-Pac”, a remastered version that was launched on both PS5 and PS4. This updated edition showcases graphical improvements while maintaining the original game’s charm and style of play.
In simpler terms, you can get the game “Pac-Man World Re-Pac” for free if you have a PlayStation Plus subscription. This game is one of the offerings for February 2025 on PS Plus. If your subscription is active at any tier, you can download this remastered PS1 game without paying until March 3rd. Although it’s not technically free in the traditional sense, since there are millions of PlayStation users who already have a PS Plus subscription, it’s likely that many people can get the game without spending money.
