As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming experience under my belt, I can confidently say that the announcement of Predator: Hunting Grounds coming to Xbox Series X/S next week is a game-changer! I remember playing this gem on PlayStation 4 back in 2020 and being hooked by its unique blend of action, stealth, and suspense. Now, finally, the Xbox community gets to experience the thrill of hunting or being hunted as part of a Fireteam, or as the Predator itself.
A game that has been exclusive to PlayStation 4 since 2020, initially published by PlayStation itself, is now moving over to Xbox. There’s been much buzz about Xbox’s strategy to bring games such as Sea of Thieves, Hi-Fi Rush, Grounded, Pentiment, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle to PlayStation since 2024. Now, it’s Xbox users’ turn to enjoy these titles, although this time, Sony won’t be handling the publishing.
Next week on October 1st, I’m pumped to dive back into the jungle with Predator: Hunting Grounds, which is making its way onto Xbox Series X/S. Originally developed by Illfonic and released in 2020 for PS4 and PC, this game has been a favorite of mine. Even after receiving continued updates for a few years, the developers eventually moved on to other projects. But now, they’re back with a vengeance! They’re not only bringing Predator: Hunting Grounds to Xbox Series X/S, but also enhancing it for PS5 and PC. Can’t wait to see what they’ve got in store for us old-school fans!
The shift in publishing rights for the game “Predator: Hunting Grounds” is the reason it’s now available on Xbox. Illfonic obtained these rights from PlayStation earlier in 2024 and opted to self-publish the title, expanding its platform reach. This decision means that what was initially a PS4 exclusive towards the end of its life cycle, has now been launched across multiple consoles. Regrettably, Nintendo Switch users are not included at this time, but there’s a possibility that might change in the future.
