PS5 Exclusive FBC: Firebreak Coming to PS Plus This Summer

In summer, Sony PlayStation 5 users can look forward to playing Remedy’s latest multiplayer game, Firebreak, within the Control universe. Upon its release, this online spin-off will be included in both the PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium subscriptions.

As a gamer, I just checked out an exciting new gameplay trailer up above! Our community manager, Julius Fondem, revealed some intriguing details on the PlayStation Blog. He shared that this game is designed by Finnish developers with a focus on making it effortless for players to dive in. There’s no need to worry about logging in daily for currencies or bonuses, and you won’t feel the pressure of FOMO (fear of missing out) mechanics. In other words, you can enjoy this game at your own pace without worrying about keeping up with others!

As Fondem puts it: “Just get together with your friends over the weekend for a good time.”

In the game Firebreak, you can team up with up to three friends to collaboratively battle swarms of otherworldly creatures. You can personalize your gear and increase your character’s rank. Each player, known as a Firebreaker, will initially have one of three distinct Crisis Kits, each providing a unique game asset and an Altered Augment.

The latter offers you special powers, with the three available at launch being:

Garden Gnome (AI9)
You can attach the Garden Gnome to the Electro-Kinetic Charge Impactor which allows you to fire it towards your enemies. Once it lands, it will summon a lightning storm around it, damaging and stunning all creatures in its area and draining all energy from surrounding batteries.
Piggy Bank (AI16)
Attaches to the end of the Wrench, and when you swing your Wrench around, it deals massive damage in a large arc in front of you and shatters, releasing a paranatural coin tornado that damages all creatures in it, but don’t worry, the Piggy Bank reassembles itself back together after the tornado makes its way back to you!
Teapot (AI44)
Attaches to the top of the Crank-Operated Fluidic Ejector (COFE) giving it the ability to shoot boiling water at enemies. When the Teapot is attached to the COFE, the tool deals the burning condition and cannot overheat.
