WHY IT LACKS A DISC DRIVE
From the beginning of this console era, Sony has been focusing more on digital content and now, with both standard and slim versions of the PS5 offering digital models, they’re taking this focus even further with the PS5 Pro. Given this, it does make some sense, but I can’t help but wonder if the average gamer will find value at this premium price point.
He explained to IGN that the innovative technologies being implemented aim to offer extraordinary gaming experiences, not just technological advancements like SSD, Wi-Fi 7, and other supporting gameplay technologies. Essentially, he was emphasizing that this comprehensive package will provide exceptional value to our dedicated players, our primary focus.
BETTER COOLING SYSTEM
The upgraded PS5 Pro will perform significantly better than the standard PS5 due to its advanced CPU, ray tracing features, and PSSR enhancements, among other things. This improved performance necessitates a more robust cooling system compared to the base console to prevent overheating. As per Aoki’s statement, the cooling system of the PS5 Pro is designed specifically to match that of the standard PS5.

40-50 ENHANCED TITLES AT LAUNCH

DRAGON AGE: THE VEILGUARD
At the debut of the PS5 Pro, it’s anticipated that “Dragon Age: The Veilguard” will be one of its standout enhanced games. According to BioWare, this fantasy action RPG will showcase numerous technical upgrades on the PS5 Pro, such as enhanced resolutions and visual settings in both Fidelity and Performance modes (which run at 30 FPS and 60 FPS respectively). A notable title that appears to be profiting significantly from PS5 Pro enhancements is “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth”. At its initial release this year, Square Enix’s action RPG encountered some technical difficulties on the standard PS5, with its Performance Mode receiving specific criticism. However, according to Digital Foundry’s analysis, the game performs much better on the PS5 Pro. It now runs smoothly at a 60 FPS frame rate, all while maintaining a clear 4K resolution.
