PS5 Pro Design is Similar to PS5 Slim, Announcement in First Half of September – Rumor

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, the rumors about the upcoming PlayStation 5 Pro have me both excited and skeptical. I’ve seen enough console revisions to know that they can either be game-changers or mere cosmetic tweaks. The fact that this design is said to be similar to the PS5 Slim gives me a sense of déjà vu, but the added black stripes do add a touch of uniqueness.

Despite whispers about the potential PlayStation 5 Pro seemingly subsiding during the summer’s gaming season, there were allegedly clandestine discussions about it at Gamescom. As per Dealabs’ billbil-kun, an announcement could be made in the first half of September. What’s even more intriguing is that this insider claims to have caught a glimpse of the console’s design.

They didn’t reveal it publicly, but they did give a drawing of their proposed design. It’s reportedly modeled after the PS5 Slim, featuring three black stripes across its main body (possibly using parts left over from the PS5 Slim). Confirmed details include two USB-C ports and a power button on the front side.

The PS5 Pro follows a similar aesthetic as the Slim model, but it’s slightly more bulky, and no significant changes have been made to its overall design when compared to the standard console. Moreover, the DualSense controller remains the same, including the current white color theme.

A recent gossip aligns with a report by Jeff Grubb of Giant Bomb regarding a State of Play presentation coming up next month. However, it’s uncertain if the PS5 Pro will make an appearance at this event. Nevertheless, there’s speculation that it could be unveiled during the Tokyo Game Show from September 26th to 29th. Keep an eye out for further updates in the meantime.
