Speculation about a PS5 Upgrade has been circulating for quite a while now, and although Sony hasn’t officially confirmed the mid-generation console update yet, it seems like it won’t be long before we hear an announcement. It appears that the console is becoming something of an open secret among game developers following Gamescom last week.
According to a report from Wccftech, an unnamed developer claims to have obtained specifications for the rumored PS5 Pro console, implying improved performance in running games powered by Unreal Engine 5 compared to the current PS5 model. The source of this information is reportedly not a major studio, indicating that Sony may have shared details about the PS5 Pro with multiple developers rather than just the biggest studios.
As the report mentions, Italian outlet Multiplayer also claimed in a recent livestream that they had been told by a developer at Gamescom that they had delayed their upcoming title to better align it with the launch of the PS5 Pro.
Rumors suggest that a new model, possibly called the PS5 Pro, might be released by the end of this year. A potential reveal is rumored to take place in September. Keep an eye on this space for further news.
