PS5 Pro System Seller Assassin’s Creed Shadows Will Get a Big Upgrade

We’re slowly beginning to see PS5 Pro show its true colours.

Initially, when the launch lineup was impressive, some doubted if the $700 system provided a clear improvement. However, with Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Ubisoft has effectively utilized the system’s processing power to deliver what can be considered a “generational leap” in gaming experience.

However, the French company hasn’t finished collaborating with Sony’s high-powered system; they have already pledged to incorporate PSSR compatibility down the line, and they’ve shared some insights into their decision-making in an interview with Digital Foundry.

The studio clarified that when evaluating PSSR (Post-Processing Shader Shading Rasterization) during the shipment of Shadows, they observed superior outcomes using their own TAA (Temporal Anti-Aliasing) solution compared to the initial analysis.

Nonetheless, PSSR is a fresh upscaler; following several intensive collaborative sessions with Sony over the last few months, most of the challenges, particularly those related to moving foliage and water – issues commonly encountered in other games – have been effectively addressed.

“We’re now confident that the image quality with PSSR will always be better than with TAA.”

If you’re not already familiar, PSSR (Sony’s Pixel Super Resolution) is an AI technology that enables Sony devices to create a sharp 4K image from a lower initial resolution.

By doing this, developers can redirect their computational resources to other areas, thereby enhancing the frame rates or graphical settings. They don’t have to concern themselves with maintaining native resolutions during rendering.

It’s clear that Ubisoft acknowledges that PSSR (Pelouse Sans Samourai Rouge) had some initial issues, but since it’s a system meant to evolve, we can expect great improvements in Assassin’s Creed Shadows as time goes on.

As a gamer, I can’t wait to get my hands on the upgraded version of this game, which seems to shine brighter than ever on the PS5 Pro. The hunt for its legendary weapons and armor becomes even more thrilling knowing the enhanced visuals I’ll be experiencing!
