As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that you can now download the updated edition of Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, optimized for an immersive experience on the PS5 Pro! This new version takes the already fantastic open-world gameplay to a whole new level.
In a comprehensive blog post on PlayStation, Ubisoft’s technology director, Pierre Fortin, expressed his conviction that the game on Sony’s powerful console offers an unparalleled gaming experience, one that is even comparable to top-tier PC gaming.
Looking at how much an ultra-top-tier PC might set you back by several thousand dollars, it’s quite clear that the PS5 Pro’s price becomes relatively reasonable in comparison.
Notably, we’ve not only enhanced the game’s 40fps Balanced Mode by including ray-traced reflections, but we’ve also implemented PSSR consistently throughout the entire game.
In simpler terms, PSSR (Sony’s Proprietary Super-Resolution) technology uses artificial intelligence to enhance lower resolution images, making them appear as if they were originally created in 4K quality.
Initially, Assassin’s Creed Shadows for the PS5 Pro came equipped with Temporal Anti-Aliasing (TAA). However, the development team has consistently held the opinion that Performance-Scalable Shading Rate (PSSR) would deliver a more exceptional gaming experience.
“We reached out to Sony for further collaboration,” Fortin explained.

PSSR delivers a more stationary image than TAA, with significantly fewer flickering artifacts, which enhances overall image quality.
Here’s my attempt: I can’t help but feel excited – PlayStation 5 Pro seems like the ultimate platform for experiencing Assassin’s Creed Shadows on console. Intriguingly, MachineGames has expressed similar sentiments about Indiana Jones and the Great Circle as well.
