PS5, PS4 Brawler Delayed: What Went Wrong with Two Strikes?

Update [Fri 25th Apr 2025, 11:30am]: The release of Two Strikes has been moved from its initial date to May.

Originally scheduled for release on April 25th, this uniquely designed and seemingly effective fighter has been unexpectedly postponed by nearly a month. Now, the new launch date is set for May 23rd.

It seems no specific explanation has been provided for the delay, but it appears that Retro Reactor Games might be using additional time to refine and enhance the gaming experience, given that the game is still in its early access phase on Steam.

In some cases, the fundamental idea of a game can be compelling enough to attract players – and that’s the strategy behind Two Strikes.

Do you remember a game titled “One Strike“, released on PC in 2017 and Nintendo Switch in 2018? As the name implies, this pixel art fighter revolved around the concept of one hit, one kill. Its sequel is called “Two Strikes”. Can you figure out how many hits it takes to eliminate your opponent this time?

As a gamer, I’m genuinely excited about this sequel from Retro Reactor Games, a Spanish developer. The hand-drawn art style is simply captivating, and they’ve masterfully used color in bold, striking ways that really pop. From the gameplay trailers I’ve seen, it seems like every moment will be tense and satisfying, just as I hoped it would be!

The game “Two Strikes” will be available on both PS5 and PS4 starting April 25th, for a price of $19.99. Are you ready for the test? See if you can endure at least two rounds in the comment section beneath this post.
