The latest sales statistics from Circana show that the PS5 is continuing to outperform the PS4 in terms of console sales within the U.S., having sold approximately 7% more systems compared to where the PS4 stood at a similar point during its lifespan. Over a period of 52 months, the PS5 has consistently outsold the PS4 in the American market.

In February 2025, Sony’s PS5 continued to be the top-selling console in the USA, both in terms of units and revenue, maintaining its lead over the PS4 that was established during January 2025’s update from Circana. Conversely, sales of the Xbox Series X|S lagged behind the launch-aligned sales of the Xbox One in the USA by approximately 19%.
