Pyro Actor Aaron Stanford on Possible MCU Future After Deadpool & Wolverine

Pyro Actor Aaron Stanford on Possible MCU Future After Deadpool & Wolverine

As a long-time Marvel fan who has witnessed the evolution of these iconic characters since the early X-Men films, I can’t help but feel a mix of emotions hearing Aaron Stanford’s ambiguous comments about Pyro’s future in the MCU.

Actor Aaron Stanford, who played Deadpool and Wolverine co-stars, discusses his potential return in the Marvel Universe. The movies featuring Deadpool and Wolverine featured unexpected appearances that pleased fans, one of which was Stanford himself as the flame-manipulating mutant Pyro from 2003’s X2: X-Men United and 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand. Stanford had doubts about ever revisiting this role again. Given that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is now in its Multiverse Storyline, and Avengers: Secret Wars is upcoming, fans are eager to know if Marvel Studios has plans for Stanford’s Pyro character, despite his demise at the hands of Emma Corrin’s Cassandra Nova.

As a die-hard gamer, I recently found myself in the shoes of Aaron Stanford, the man behind Pyro, during San Diego Comic-Con. When someone asked me if Deadpool & Wolverine was the last hurrah for my character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I had to admit, “To be honest, I haven’t got a clue.” The multiverse is a tricky beast, and it could very well mean the end of the road, or it might just as easily keep Pyro’s story alive. Who knows? I adore this character, I’ve spent a significant chunk of my life with him by my side. Starting my career with him was an unforgettable experience, and I’m still here, at this point in his journey. If given the chance, I’d love nothing more than to keep Pyro going, but who knows what the future holds?

Dafne Keen comments on reunion with Hugh Jackman in Deadpool & Wolverine

Dafne Keen and Aaron Stanford, once part of the X-Men film franchise, have now officially become members of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the movie titled “Deadpool & Wolverine“. Keen reprises her role as X-23 / Laura Kinney, a clone of Wolverine portrayed by Hugh Jackman. However, the X-Man character in “Deadpool & Wolverine” is distinct from the one who sacrificed himself to save her in the 2017 film “Logan“. Lately, Keen has shared insights on how their emotional reunion transpired.

In a poignant way, Dafne Keen expressed to Phase Zero’s ComicBook that there’s an incredibly sad irony: she can express her love and gratitude to him now, but it’s not truly him. She’s dealing with the heart-wrenching proximity of being able to tell Logan how much she cares, even though he doesn’t know her personally, yet she knows him deeply. It’s a tragic beauty and an ingenious move by the creators. You can catch more of Dafne’s thoughts in the interview above.
