R. Kelly Hospitalized After Overdosing in Prison, His Lawyer Says

R. Kelly is receiving medical attention.

R&B artist known for the song “Ignition,” who is at present incarcerated for 30 years due to convictions linked to charges of racketeering, bribery, coercion, enticement, and sex trafficking, was reportedly hospitalized last week, as stated in a June 17 filing acquired by USA Today, following an overdose from medication administered by the prison staff.

Prior to Kelly’s overdose, his legal team claimed in court documents that he was forced into solitary confinement against his wishes on June 10th. On the third day following this incident, the documents asserted that the singer awoke feeling weak and dizzy.

According to USA Today, it was reported that he began to notice floating dark patches within his line of sight. Trying to rise, Mr. Kelly instead stumbled and hit the floor. With great effort, he managed to crawl towards the cell’s door before losing awareness.

After losing consciousness, I was swiftly taken by ambulance to Duke University Hospital where I remained admitted for a span of two days.

Regarding privacy, protection, and security concerns, North Carolina’s Federal Correctional Institute declined to disclose the living conditions for any detained person to TopMob News on June 17. This applies to both their medical status and any health-related matters.

TopMob News has reached out to Kelly’s attorney for comment but has not heard back.

The individual, aged 58, was recently admitted to the hospital, a development occurring a week subsequent to his legal representative, Beau B. Brindley, petitioning for his release from confinement at home, owing to an alleged plan to harm him.

In a recent court filing, Brindley stated (to NBC News), “His life hinges on the watch of supposed ‘protectors’ and wardens tasked with his safety.” However, it’s now clear that the individuals responsible for safeguarding inmates have solicited the murder of Mr. Kelly instead.

From my perspective as a lifestyle expert, I’m sharing an interesting perspective that has emerged in recent discussions. As per the legal team defending Kelly, who vehemently denies all accusations against him, this alleged murder plot is said to be a reaction to perceived wrongdoings by Bureau of Prisons (BOP) officials. This intriguing twist highlights the complexities surrounding the case, emphasizing the importance of a thorough and fair investigation.

According to the statement, it was revealed that Mr. Kelly’s lawyers uncovered information which suggested that officials from the Bureau of Prisons asked another inmate to assassinate him. Moreover, at least two known white supremacists who are members of the Aryan Brotherhood were approached by BOP officers and instructed to carry out this action against Mr. Kelly.

The attorney also alleged that another prison authority issued a warning to the musician.

As a die-hard fan, I found myself reading the document, where it stated that the official had cautioned Mr. Kelly about being in peril and urged him to tread carefully. The BOP official subtly hinted that Mr. Kelly’s safety was questionable within Bureau of Prisons custody.

As a lifestyle expert, I’d like to emphasize an additional cautionary note. Just as Brindley stated, there were allegations that a prison official advised Kelly to steer clear of the dining area. The reason? There was suspicion that harmful substances might be surreptitiously added to the meals in both the main dining hall and the commissary, potentially used to execute inmates.

According to TMZ, prosecutors have countered Kelly’s petition by claiming that the actions exhibited were those of an emotional abuser and skilled manipulator.
