Race Across the World Contestants Stranded by Deadly Typhoon – Shocking Elimination Ahead!

*Warning: This article contains spoilers for Race Across the World season 5 episode 2.*

In tonight’s episode on the 30th of April, the participants in the Race Across the World encountered a fierce tropical storm, as a typhoon swept through China.

In the fifth season’s second installment, the competing teams embarked on their trek towards the following milestone, which was situated in Sanya – a city found on Hainan Island.

Eager to catch up after being a day behind everyone else, Caroline and her son Tom were determined. However, an unforeseen change in the weather was not something they had anticipated.

Some teams traveled along the eastern coast of the China Sea, stopping at various cities, whereas others chose a more countryside path inland.

Fortunately, both Brian and Melvyn, along with couples Fin and Sioned, and sisters Elizabeth and Letitia, managed to arrive at Sanya prior to the typhoon’s arrival.

But the same couldn’t be said for the other two teams.

Following an anxious and extremely rainy trek to the second checkpoint on Hainan Island, it was the sisters who arrived at the hotel first, while Brian and Melvyn finished second, with Fin and Sioned close behind.

In the meantime, Caroline and Tom wound up on Hainan Island, stuck without any travel plans until morning.

Tom pondered and expressed his concern, “I fear we might feel quite let down once we reach the end of the book.

On the mainland, Yin and Gaz found themselves perplexed, wondering why there were no transportation options at their disposal.

“I have no words,” Yin said as Gaz added: “I’d pull my hair out if I had any!”

It remains unclear how this might affect their position in the competition, as episode 3 will air on BBC One next week, and it seems like it’s going to be quite intense.

Next week’s sneak peek shows all teams reaching the second milestone, but a setback followed. When informed about the next checkpoint, they discovered that the team finishing fifth would be removed from the competition.

As they continue their journey through Asia, who could be going home?
