Random: Assassin’s Creed Origins Catching Strays After Microsoft Windows Update

As a long-time fan of the Assassin’s Creed series, I find myself disheartened by the current state of affairs regarding Assassin’s Creed Origins on PC. Having played and enjoyed this masterpiece on PlayStation, it’s disappointing to see fellow fans unable to experience its magic due to a seemingly incompatible update on Windows 11.

I remember the days when I would eagerly await each new Assassin’s Creed game, and Origins was undoubtedly one of the franchise’s high points. The immersive storyline, the stunning visuals, and the captivating portrayal of ancient Egypt by Bayek of Siwa (played brilliantly by Abubakar Salim) made it a standout title for me.

It’s unfortunate that Ubisoft seems to be struggling to address this issue, especially considering their reputation for cross-platform compatibility. I can only hope that they find a solution soon, as the current state of Origins on PC is a sour note in an otherwise beautiful symphony of gaming experiences.

On a lighter note, I guess it’s a good thing that we, the console gamers, get to enjoy these games without any technical hiccups. After all, who needs a PC when you have a PlayStation? Just plug it into a wall socket, and voila! Instant gaming without the headaches!

2025 has seen Ubisoft facing a negative review wave on Steam and its extension to social media. This is due to fans expressing their disappointment as an update from Microsoft Windows seems to have made one of the top-rated entries in the franchise on PS5 unplayable on PC.

According to IGN’s report, troubles with Windows 11 update version 24H2, released by Microsoft in late November, have allegedly caused several Ubisoft games such as Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Star Wars Outlaws, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, and even the older Assassin’s Creed Origins to malfunction. While patches have been issued for Outlaws and Avatar to resolve the issue, the frustration among fans of Assassin’s Creed has reached a peak, with Assassin’s Creed Origins (featuring Tales of Kenzera: ZAU director Abubakar Salim as Bayek of Siwa) becoming the main point of discontent due to its popularity.

After receiving numerous mixed reviews due mainly to issues with Windows updates, Origins has become a game we prefer playing on PlayStation. This situation highlights the challenges developers face when releasing games across multiple platforms, even years later. Notably, Ubisoft chose to offer discounts for the game at this time without a fix in place, which has further upset some players.
