Random: Hideo Kojima Gave His Studio a USB Stick with All His Ideas in It

Legendary figure Hideo Kojima has recently turned 60, and following a health issue during the pandemic, he’s given much consideration to what lies ahead in his career.

Currently, he has upcoming works such as “Death Stranding 2: On the Beach” in development, but at the same time, he is deeply concerned about the continued success of his studio even after his departure from it.

In his conversation with Edge Magazine as reported by VGC, he expressed a concern about the future of Kojima Productions following him. He doesn’t want them merely managing their current intellectual properties, but rather aiming for something more substantial.

He provided his assistant with a USB stick that seems to hold all of his concepts, serving somewhat as a blueprint for his work. Besides some other tasks in hand, Kojima is also engaged in creating the forthcoming action-spy game titled Physint. It appears that this venture came about due to his realization that many fans were yearning for a new experience similar to his Metal Gear Solid series.

At some stage, Kojima pondered over the possibility of directing a movie. However, following discussions with filmmakers Guillermo del Toro and Nicolas Winding Refn, he chose to reevaluate his focus, taking their advice to continue working in the gaming industry instead.
