As a longtime fan of manga and anime, I have been eagerly awaiting the return of one of my all-time favorite series: Ranma 1/2. It brings back memories of my teenage years when I first discovered this classic romantic comedy. The news that Rumiko Takahashi is bringing it back to life with Studio MAPPA’s help has filled me with immense excitement.
It’s been a while since we last heard from “Ranma 1/2,” but that’s about to change. This year, there were confirmations that mangaka Rumiko Takahashi is reviving the classic series for television. And now, we’ve gotten our first glimpse of the reboot with its recently released trailer. We can thank Studio MAPPA for taking on this project.
As a passionate gamer and avid anime fan, I’m thrilled to share that the same studio responsible for creating masterpieces like Chainsaw Man and Jujutsu Kaisen is breathing new life into Ranma 1/2. I’m personally involved in this project as part of the dedicated community following its development.
As a longtime anime fan with fond memories of staying up late to watch Ranma 1/2 when it first aired, I’m thrilled to hear that the beloved series is making a comeback this fall. The exact debut date is set for October 5, and while we don’t have info on which streaming service will carry it yet, I’m hopeful it will follow in the footsteps of other recent Takahashi revivals like Urusei Yatsura, which were released through simulcast. These experiences from my past make me eagerly anticipate this new chapter of Ranma 1/2 and the chance to reconnect with old friends.
