As a researcher, I can attest that Razer never ceases to move forward. It’s not just about releasing new and improved hardware annually; this company is renowned for its dynamic collaborative efforts as well.
Recently, I examined the Razer-Fortnite lineup, an assortment of PC gaming equipment themed around Epic Games’ massive hit. It’s not often that you find a more popular game for collaboration, yet Razer has pulled it off admirably.
It’s been reported that Minecraft holds the record for being the best-selling video game ever (though
As a researcher encountering the latest Fortnite merchandise, I initially found myself drawn to its design, considering it my personal favorite thus far. However, having no prior experience with Minecraft, I am now convinced that this recent collection has dethroned my previous favorite.
There’s something quite fitting about Razer, which is usually green, pairing up so seamlessly with Minecraft, given its abundant greenery. It’s just spot on, making for a perfect match.
Similar to the past Fortnite assortment, this time around, you’ll find four items sporting Minecraft-themed designs. Despite using the same keyboard (BlackWidow V4 X), the remaining three Minecraft items have unique differences.
The headset has now been updated to the new Razer Kraken V4 X model, for this session we’ll be using the Razer Cobra mouse, and a compact Gigantus V2 mouse pad.
Instead of the collaboration with Fortnite being notably striking, the integration of Minecraft into Razer’s current design aesthetic appears more harmonious. It’s as if they were designed to complement each other naturally.
On the Kraken V4 X, Razer’s traditional green hue harmoniously merges with the Minecraft-inspired accents. The focus of this line is clearly on the iconic Creeper character from Minecraft.
On both sides of the headband, you’ll find faces, and there’s also one within each ear cup.
Each side of the headband displays a face, while there’s another inside each ear cup.
Both versions convey the same information but in different wordings for variety and readability.

On both the Gigantus V2 and the Cobra mouse models, special attention has been given to the design of the face, featuring a Minecraft-inspired scene with an explosive mob centered among pixelated grass and earth.
In this case, I believe the Cobra mouse was a suitable selection as well. Interestingly, this is my first direct interaction with this model, but I find it appealing. It’s compact, easy to handle, and lightweight, which are crucial factors for me. Moreover, compared to other Razer mice, it offers a more budget-friendly option.
This final detail makes it an appealing choice for parents shopping for children who are deeply engaged in Minecraft. This mouse stands out as a fantastic option for young PC gamers, especially considering the Creeper’s image on the right-click button.

Among all the pieces in the collection, it’s clear that the keyboard, specifically the Razer’s BlackWidow V4 X, shines brightest. On its own, it’s impressive, but when adorned with Minecraft colors, it becomes one of the most visually appealing keyboards I’ve ever come across.
In my view, this keyboard is an improvement on its Fortnite counterpart, primarily because it features green switches. Personally, I find Razer’s green switches superior to the yellow ones included in the Fortnite collaboration.
In simpler terms, yellow switches, which are often preferred for gaming due to their linear motion, aren’t my favorite for everyday use because I tend to make too many errors with them. On the other hand, clicky green switches work best for non-gaming activities and still hold up when gaming occurs occasionally.
As a tech-obsessed individual, I just can’t look away from it. Surprisingly, I don’t consider myself a die-hard Minecraft fan, yet I find myself captivated by this keyboard in an almost indescribable way. However, there’s one minor point that nudges at my tech-enthusiast sensibilities.
The marketing materials display an exclusive Minecraft block design on the Escape key for a keyboard, but unfortunately, it isn’t included in the product. I suspect many others may share my disappointment as well.

With each purchase, you’ll receive a code for one of two available cosmetics. Specifically, the keyboard and headset come with a code for the Ender Dragon Shawl, whereas the other items include a code for the Overgrown Arm.
Currently, Razer’s U.S. store isn’t stocking all their products. The BlackWidow V4 X is in the “notify me” phase, but other items can be pre-ordered with a tentative shipping date of May 2. Unfortunately, it appears that the mouse pad isn’t available on Razer’s stores at this time.
In European markets, you can currently purchase the headset directly from Razer’s online shop. However, I should mention that since it’s a USB device, Xbox players are unable to use it.
