Ahoy there, fellow gaming enthusiasts! Let me regale you with my thoughts on the current state of affairs in the All Elite Wrestling (AEW) ring, specifically the unfortunate incident involving Daniel Garcia and Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF).
1) Maxwell Jacob Friedman reverted back to his malevolent character in a cruel manner recently. Specifically, earlier this month, MJF brutally assaulted Daniel Garcia after Garcia failed to secure the AEW International Title from Will Ospreay. Interestingly, MJF offered Garcia his Dynamite Diamond Ring, a tool he has often used to win matches, to aid him in winning the title, but Garcia declined the offer. Regrettably, this decision cost Garcia the match. After the fight, MJF attacked Garcia repeatedly with the ring and even performed a piledriver on him from the top rope, leaving Garcia unconscious and requiring a stretcher to be removed from the ring. Since then, Garcia has been absent from AEW TV.
Daniel Garcia’s AEW Future in Doubt, Potentially WWE Bound
MJF’s attack on Daniel Garcia was two-fold.
According to WrestlePurists, AEW appears to be safeguarding their position concerning Garcia and his upcoming contract. Previously reported by Fightful Select this summer, Garcia’s contract is due to expire this autumn. If Garcia decides to renew his deal, he might engage in a rivalry with MJF; otherwise, it seems that he will follow the same path as Ricochet did.
1) Back in June, Ricochet was removed from WWE television following a brutal attack by Bron Breakker, which was part of a storyline. This happened after Ricochet announced his departure from WWE. Although Ricochet hasn’t appeared anywhere else yet, it is widely thought that he will join AEW in the future.
1. Since September 2020, Garcia has been part of AEW. He initially showcased his skills on AEW Dark. Later, in October 2021, he signed a contract with AEW. Although he hasn’t won a title in AEW yet, Garcia has achieved success alongside wrestlers like Jon Moxley, Chris Jericho, and Bryan Danielson in their respective programs.
1. It’s believed that Garcia may renew his contract with AEW. If not, WWE might be the one to attract him due to their competitive bidding. Should Garcia move to WWE, he would join a growing list of ex-AEW talents making their way into the world of sports entertainment. In just the last year, performers such as Brian Pillman Jr. (Lexis King), Jade Cargill, Shawn Spears, and Ethan Page have all switched to WWE. Among these, Cargill and Page have experienced significant success, with Cargill holding the title of former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion and Page currently being the NXT Champion.
WWE has been actively working to recruit more wrestlers recently, a shift from the focus on college athletes for WWE NXT two years ago. While many wrestlers in NXT still have athletic backgrounds, newcomers like Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer demonstrate that WWE continues to welcome elite performers from around the world.
