Last week, voice actor Rob Wiethoff hinted at an upcoming announcement from Rockstar Games about “Red Dead Redemption 2“. However, over the weekend, there was little news from the studio. In a recent video on his channel, a fan of “Red Dead Redemption” inquired about the status of the announced, to which Wiethoff replied that it is still expected to happen.
As I mull over Wiethoff’s reply, it feels like there’s a complex web of elements at play with whatever announcement is on the horizon. Interestingly enough, his words hint that this might not necessarily be tied to Rockstar Games, given their reputation for sticking to their release schedules when it comes to significant announcements.
Wiethoff replied, “It’s on its way, but there were some holdups. My apologies for the wait.” He added, “There are many pieces in motion. We aim to make it perfect. Trust me, you’ll understand why once we share more details. Rest assured, I can’t wait to fill you in as soon as I can. I’m excited about it too! Let’s dive in!
Last week, Wiethoff expressed regret for any confusion caused by his joke, as it may have mislead some individuals. In a recent live stream, Wiethoff clarified that he is not responsible for significant announcements from Rockstar Games, and that the studio will make such announcements independently without involving him.
He shared that there’s something he’s genuinely thrilled about, and he believes others will feel the same. However, he admitted that he may have given a hint of misdirection when he mentioned having an announcement but couldn’t discuss it at the moment.
I’d like to clarify, even though I believe you already understand – I’m not the one who shares updates from Rockstar Games. You all are aware of that, I’m just reinforcing it. It’s Rockstar Games themselves who announce their news, and they don’t involve me in that process. So, please keep that in mind. And let me tell you, I think many of you will be thrilled about the upcoming news, without a doubt.
Last week, it was anticipated that a teaser from the original voice actor of John Marston in Red Dead Redemption 2, Wiethoff, would occur “for sure before Friday.” Additionally, Roger Clark, who voices Arthur Morgan, also hinted at an upcoming announcement, albeit in a more subtle manner on social media, suggesting he was privy to the tease made by Wiethoff.
Currently, whispers about Wiethoff’s announcement hint at the possibility of Rockstar Games unveiling updates for Red Dead Redemption 2 on both PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Additionally, there have been murmurs suggesting that this open-world game may be making its way to the Nintendo Switch 2.
