As someone who has always admired the resilience and vulnerability of strong women, I am genuinely moved by Ava Phillippe’s courage to share her mental health journey. Reese Witherspoon’s daughter with her former spouse Ryan Phillippe openly discussed her personal battles with mental health on World Mental Health Day. She shared her experiences, hoping that her story might encourage others facing similar challenges.

Ava shared in her Instagram video on October 10th that there’s something intriguing about her past: she’s always aspired to be a therapist, particularly one who helps kids navigate their emotions and difficulties. This ambition, she believes, stems from her personal experiences as a child and teenager, where extraordinary mental health professionals and therapists made a significant impact on her life.

Based on what she shared, this 25-year-old individual was motivated by her personal therapy journey to collaborate with the Kids Mental Health Foundation for their Take Five campaign. In her own words, the aim is to invest at least five minutes or more interacting with the children in your sphere and checking up on them.

She recommended that we make an effort to reach out to the people who matter most to us and ask about their wellbeing, paying special attention to those who might be further along in their personal or professional paths.

In addition to being a mom to her 20-year-old son Deacon (with Ryan) and 12-year-old son Tennessee (with ex Jim Toth), Reese couldn’t help but express her admiration for Ava’s video, commending it by saying “Beautifully said” in the comments and adding a smiley face emoji.

She shared that she has been managing anxiety since her early years, and during her childhood and teenage years, the anxiety was particularly strong for her.

Ava likewise admitted that “not every solution fits all,” yet she offered some strategies that have proven beneficial during her voyage.

She went on, “Please don’t dismiss your emotions. You’re entitled to feel whatever way you do, and that might seem unusual to others. Being harsh on yourself won’t make you feel better or solve the problem.
