Remastered romance visual novel Tayutama: Kiss on my Deity announced for Switch, PC

Frontier Works and Kawaiinium have unveiled an enhanced edition of the romance visual novel “Tayutama: Kiss on my Deity,” developed by Lump of Sugar, for both Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam). The release is scheduled globally in spring 2025, offering language support in English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese.

Initially, Tayutama: Kiss on my Deity debuted for personal computers in Japan on July 11, 2011. Later, it was also released for Xbox 360 on November 7, 2009.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the captivating visual novel “Tayutama: Kiss on my Deity” is making a comeback! This time, it’s back with a polished remastered edition, set to debut simultaneously worldwide on both Nintendo Switch and Steam in the blooming season of 2025.

Back in the summer of 2008, I was captivated by this PC game that had just been launched. It didn’t take long for it to win over fans like me, stirring emotions so profound they even inspired an anime adaptation the following year in 2009.

In this new version, overseen by Lump of Sugar, we’ve transformed it into a fun, family-friendly adventure. Parts have been enhanced with high-resolution graphics, and it’s now available in various languages.

The narrative centers around Yuri Mito, the solitary son of a local priest at Yachimata Shrine, who finds himself in an extraordinary situation during his spring break. He encounters Kikuramikami no Hime, a guardian figure of a mystical artifact hidden in the woods near his school. She shares the turbulent past between humans and the Tayutai, a legendary race imprisoned within the relic for their perceived danger to mankind. To foster harmony between their realms, the goddess transforms into Mashiro, a young girl, and confides in Yuri’s care. Unfortunately, the relic is unintentionally shattered, freeing the Tayutai. Among them are the “Three Mightiest,” formidable entities that harbor animosity toward humankind.

Equipped with supernatural abilities passed down through his family line, Yuri joins forces with Mashiro and three other heroines to investigate if harmony can be achieved between humans and Tayutai. This romantic fantasy journey delves into themes of personal development, bonding, and the enigmas of affection.
