Following a pre-release for Pro and Elite Edition enthusiasts, Sloclap’s competitive soccer game titled “Rematch” has officially been released today on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC platforms. You can watch the launch trailer here below.
Instead of the usual approach from the creators of Sifu, Rematch emphasizes gameplay that relies heavily on skills. In this game, you’ll manage a single player, able to customize your character using an extensive creator, engaging in 5v5 matches that follow street football-style rules. This means no fouls or stoppages. If you’re into competition, there’s an option to advance through the ranks. The game will periodically update with new content during seasons.
Currently, during its open beta phase, the game saw a peak of around 160,000 simultaneous players on Steam. At present, the full game has approximately 55,000 players playing concurrently. This number may increase over the weekend, considering a recent update addressing synchronization issues. Regrettably, cross-platform play isn’t available at launch, but it’s a key focus for the development team. Keep an eye out for future updates in the meantime.
