Rematch Reaches 1 Million Unique Players on Launch Day

Initially facing some hurdles during its early access phase, Sloclap’s Rematch has since reached a significant achievement. On its release day, the competitive soccer game attracted a total of one million distinct players from all platforms.

As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but share my excitement as I witnessed Steam’s concurrent player count soar nearly up to 93,000! Although this number is lower compared to its previous beta, which astonishingly reached almost 160,000 players simultaneously, it’s still a remarkable achievement. What makes it even more impressive is that the last beta was available for free to everyone, and yet here we are, enjoying the game together!

The game titled Rematch is now playable on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. This fast-paced football game has minimal rules, with matches consisting of 5 players per team, no penalties, and no rest spots. It’s straightforward and efficient in its design. Although Steam reviews are predominantly positive, with around 77% of 7,528 users approving it, there are some criticisms directed towards the cost of cosmetic items, particularly since the game isn’t free-to-play.

Although there’s already a lot of content, even more will be added with each season. Meanwhile, Sloclap is diligently working on implementing cross-platform play, a feature that didn’t make the initial launch. In the meantime, keep an eye out for future updates.
