As someone who’s spent countless hours grinding in-game, I can confidently say that this Prism Fusion system is indeed a game-changer. It’s like a candy store for us hardcore players, but instead of sweets, we get these amazing buffs!
With the release of “Remnant 2 – The Dark Horizon”, the game has welcomed an array of fresh items, locations, adversaries, and even innovative gameplay elements. One such addition is the “prism system”, a unique method to utilize “relic fragments”. Initially, it might appear perplexing, but this guide aims to simplify the process of crafting optimal prisms tailored to your build!
How to Roll a Perfect Prism | The Dark Horizon DLC
For those newcomers, a prism is an item that you can enhance to trigger various passive bonuses, whose specifics are decided by randomly selected options with each level increase. To influence the random number generator in your favor, you may insert relic shards to enhance the likelihood of receiving the desired buffs.
It’s not just a straightforward matter, but in essence, it’s a customizable item that requires thoughtful preparation and extensive effort to match your specific attributes. By strategically using fragments of mythic relics associated with your preferred advantages, you could potentially craft an optimal prism.
Increasing Your Chances of a Perfect Prism
Whatever counts as “perfect” will obviously depend on what build you are going for, but generally, this means that your prism has all of the buffs that you desire. To do this, you are going to need to plan ahead and have some mythic relic fragments ready.
You can combine several piece fragments to boost the likelihood of their unique bonuses appearing whenever you enhance the prism. The legendary pieces offer the highest probability for excellent rolls, but remember that adding a fragment will permanently eliminate it from your inventory.
After adding the optimal pieces to customize your stats, as approximately five of them are recommended, it’s time for you to progress and ideally acquire only the desired boosts. Continue enhancing these bonuses until they reach level 10, which is the highest a single enhancement can go.
Min-Maxing for a “Perfect” Prism
If you’re aiming to optimize your prism, things might get a bit more intricate here. Essentially, some enhancements can merge together and provide an additional space for another boost. For instance, Weakspot Damage and Critical Damage can fuse into a buff referred to as Meta once they both reach level 10.
When this happens, they’ll both revert to level 1, however, only one buff space will be occupied. This action will lower the prism’s level, consequently creating an additional empty buff slot. It’s worth mentioning that these fusions are pre-arranged, and below you’ll find a list of all known combinations:
- Athletic – Movement Speed + Evade Speed
- Capacitor – Firearm Charge Speed + Heat Reduction
- Cleric – Healing Efficacy + Consumable Use Speed
- Flash – Cast Speed + Consumable Use Speed
- Grip – Weapon Spread + Swap Speed
- Gunfighter – Ranged Fire Rate + Reload Speed
- Hulk – Health % + Stamina %
- Longevity – Mod Duration + Skill Duration
- Mage – Mod Damage + Mod Generation
- Meta – Weakspot Damage + Critical Damage
- Munitions – Ranged Crit Chance + Ammo Reserves
- Pirate – Ranged Damage + Melee Damage
- Protected – Shield % + Armor
- Pugilist – Melee Attack Speed + Stamina
- Revitalize – Health Regen + Skill Cooldown
- Rogue – Melee Critical Chance + Evade Speed
- Sapper – Explosive Damage + Damage Reduction
- Selfless – Revive Speed + Healing Efficacy
- Sniper – Ranged Damage + Ideal Range
- Tank – Damage Reduction + Armor %
- Threshold – Health % + Grey Health Conversion Rate
- Warrior – Melee Damage + Melee Speed
- Wizard – Mod Critical + Skill Critical
It’s important to note that certain combinations of these fusions might share some similarities, or overlap. To ensure you get the best results and avoid any unintended consequences, it’s recommended to consider all possible options and select your desired fragments/buffs strategically, aiming for a higher chance of getting your preferred fusion while minimizing the risk of an undesirable one.
To maximize efficiency, choose the two fusions you’re interested in first, and then integrate their associated mythic components. After that, select a third fusion, but incorporate only one of its buffs by inserting the corresponding mythic fragment.
For instance, if you’re aiming to acquire items such as Meta, Munitions, and Gunfighter, you could use these relic pieces.
- Weakspot Damage (Meta)
- Critical Damage (Meta)
- Ranged Crit Chance (Munitions)
- Ammo Reserves (Munitions)
- Ranged Fire Rate (Gunfighter)
Next, you’ll likely want to proceed with enhancing the prism, aiming to reach its maximum potential, especially focusing on the buffs that can be combined. Once you obtain one of the initial fusions, you should then insert the Reload Speed fragment (for Gunfighter), and hopefully it will appear.
As a gamer, I’ve noticed the pattern here: The “ideal” prism consists of an entire set of fusions that I need for my build. If by some luck, I manage to gather four specific fusions, the fifth bonus slot will be filled with whatever extra bonus I fancy, since there won’t be any way to mix it with anything else.
Beyond these suggestions, it’s quite straightforward, but do keep in mind that there’s a minuscule possibility of not receiving your preferred buffs, even with mythic relic fragments. That’s why it’s always wise to prepare for potential rerolls, regardless of the situation.
