The Shiunji Family’s youngsters have finally stepped into the limelight as they join the latest group of shows premiering in the Spring 2025 anime lineup. To mark the occasion, the original creator has planned an exciting cross-over with the popular series, “Rent-a-Girlfriend”. Over the past few years, “Rent-a-Girlfriend” has been a hit on screens, offering a fresh take on romantic comedy. However, it’s just one of many (and certainly not the zaniest) romantic stories being developed by creator Reiji Miyajima at present. As we welcome a new anime this Spring, fans are eager to meet the characters from “The Shiunji Family Children“.
The Shiunji Family’s Children characters boast a more unconventional central theme than that of Rent-a-Girlfriend, and soon fans will be able to understand why as the anime officially launches this Spring. To mark the occasion, the series creator, Reiji Miyajima, has assembled both the heroines from this new anime and the heroine cast of Rent-a-Girlfriend for a unique crossover art project, which was shared on social media for fans to enjoy. Take a look at the fusion below as both series prepare to dominate the anime scene.
What Is The Shiunji Family Children?
The Shiunji Family series centers around the Shiunji family who discover an unexpected truth – they are not biologically related. As it unfolds, each of the sisters harbor feelings for their brother, Arata. Now, with their blood connections dissolved, they must navigate these emotions in a complex web of relationships. The anime is gaining momentum as it’s being animated by studio Doga Kobo, famous for productions like “Oshi no Ko” and “Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian.
Starting Spring 2025, the latest episodes of “The Shiunji Family” anime are being aired, with exclusive streaming rights outside Japan held by Crunchyroll. Ryoki Kamitsubo is at the helm for Doga Kobo as director, while Noboru Kimura takes charge of the scripts. Miki Muto designs the characters, and Akki, Ginnojo Hoshi, and Shota Horie work on the music composition. The voice cast features Yuichiro Umehara as Arata Shinji, Chika Anzai as Banri Shiunji, Mariko Kono as Seiha Shiunji, Rie Takahashi as Oka Shiunji, Hana Hishikawa as Minami Shiunji, Kana Ichinose as Kotono Shiunji, Chiaki Kobayashi as Shion Shiunji, and Masaki Terasoma as Karame Shiunji.
What’s Next for Rent-a-Girlfriend?
Apart from the upcoming anime, there’s more good news for Reiji Miyajima’s franchises. The popular series Rent-a-Girlfriend is gearing up for Season 4, expected to air in July as part of the Summer 225 anime schedule. Although a specific release date has not been set at this time, Kazuomi Kogi, who directed the first two seasons, will be helming Season 4 from TMS Entertainment (taking over from the director of the third season, Shin’ya Une).
Mitsutaka Hirota, Kanna Hirayama, and Kenichi Maeyamada will each take charge in specific areas again: Hirota on composition, Hirayama on character designs, and Maeyamada on music, for the upcoming anime series. The original voice actors from the first three seasons have confirmed their return to reprise their roles, promising an exciting year for fans of Miyajima’s franchise, with one successful release following another.
