Reptilia

Despite having acted for over ten years, many people only became familiar with Mikey Madison last year through the romantic comedy-drama “Anora,” where she portrayed the main character. This role earned her the Oscar for Best Actress at the 97th Academy Awards and numerous other honors, but until now, it was unknown which film she would take on next. Put those thoughts to rest, as news arrives that Madison will join Kirsten Dunst in an upcoming thriller with a wild plot.

In the upcoming film titled “Reptilia“, directed by Alejandro Landes Echavarría, Madison and Dunst will star and co-write with Duke Merriman while also producing through their A STELA CINE banner. According to a synopsis released by THR, the plot revolves around “a dental hygienist who becomes ensnared by a captivating mermaid, leading her into the shady world of Florida’s exotic animal trade.” Despite not being much of a thriller enthusiast, I find this story intriguing enough to delve deeper.

In simpler terms, ‘I’m Not The Only One’ can be rephrased as “Anora’s Mikey Madison Opens Up About Her Feelings of Vulnerability During Filming Scenes.” This way, it conveys the same message in a more accessible and easy-to-understand manner.

At the Oscars, a stellar lineup of celebrities gathered, but the heartwarming interaction between winners Zoë Saldaña and Mikey Madison was particularly moving.

In recent news, Mikey Madison reportedly declined an offer for a role in the upcoming “Star Wars” film, “Star Wars: Starfighter,” which features Ryan Gosling. At this point, Madison has not made any official comments about this matter. However, it appears that she was drawn to the film “Reptilia,” as she decided to join the production of this mermaid-centered project instead. Although the specifics of her role in “Reptilia” have not been revealed yet, it’s likely that she will play the enigmatic mermaid character.

I’m also a fan, just like you! Along with Anora, which can be accessed through a Hulu subscription, my other film roles include “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” the animated “Addams Family” movie, and “Scream” from 2022. I shared the screen with Louis C.K. on the FX sitcom “Better Things,” and was one of the main actresses in the Apple TV+ exclusive miniseries “Lady in the Lake.” Most recently, I had the honor of hosting the same Saturday Night Live episode where musical guest Morgan Waller abruptly left the stage.

Kirsten Dunst’s latest appearance was in the A24 movie “Civil War,” and she will reappear on the big screen in October when “Roofman,” produced by Paramount, hits theaters as part of the 2025 film schedule. In addition to this, production companies such as Pastel, Imperative Entertainment, AF Films, and others are involved with the upcoming film “Reptilia.” Black Bear is financing the project, aiming to sell it at the Cannes Film Market. Filming for “Reptilia” is anticipated to start this fall.

As a devoted fan, I can’t wait to stay informed about the latest news regarding “Reptilia.” Who knows which talented actors might join Mikey Madison and Kirsten Dunst on this fascinating project? And when will the public finally get to see it? I’m eager to uncover more about the mysterious world of mermaids, especially their connection to Florida’s exotic animal trade. The sooner we shed light on this subject, the better!
