Over time, Capcom’s Resident Evil series has consistently achieved remarkable commercial success, a fact that comes as no shock now. Recently, they revealed updated sales numbers for various installments of this survival horror collection, which have reached unprecedented highs.
Initially, we find “Resident Evil 7” moving up from 14.4 million units sold by the end of 2024 to currently reaching 15 million units (achieving the same sales as “Resident Evil 2” at the end of the previous year). Simultaneously, “Resident Evil Village” has surpassed 11 million units sold (an increase from its initial 10.9 million), and the remake of “Resident Evil 3” released in 2020 now stands at 10 million units sold (a rise from its previous 9.6 million).
Capcom announced that the remake of Resident Evil 4, set for release in 2023, has surpassed 10 million units sold. The total sales of the Resident Evil series now stand at a staggering 167 million units.
All versions of Resident Evil 2, 3, 4, 7, and Village can be played on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, personal computers (PC), Macs, and iOS devices.
