It appears that Capcom may have hinted at the upcoming Resident Evil game in a video celebrating the Resident Evil 4 remake, but they haven’t announced a specific reveal date or launch yet. As reported by trusted leaker AestheticGamer (also known as Dusk Golem) on Twitter, this survival horror game is expected to be unveiled this year.
Although there’s uncertainty about whether it will be revealed at the Summer Game Fest showcase in June or The Game Awards in December, it’s generally believed that the release will not be postponed beyond this year. However, it remains uncertain if it will be launched within the current fiscal year ending March 31st, 2026, or towards the end of 2026.
Further developments are yet to unfold regarding the sequel of “Resident Evil 7: biohazard,” with director Kosha Nakanishi at the helm. Previous reports suggest that it will venture into fresh territories and definitively feature Leon S. Kennedy as the main character. Initially, Jill Valentine was rumored to have a significant role, but it appears that plans may have shifted.
It’s highly likely that the revelation will take place this year, followed by a release next year. I don’t think there will be significant delays beyond that. The uncertainty lies in whether it will be unveiled during the summer or at a later event such as TGA this year, and whether it will launch within the current fiscal year (ending March 31st, 2026) or the following one, which begins in late 2026.
