In 2016, the Resident Evil Origins Collection was introduced on PS4 and Xbox One, with a Nintendo Switch release following in 2019. This collection brought high-definition updates of the remake of the original Resident Evil and Resident Evil Zero to current gaming systems. Since then, additional modern platforms have emerged, hinting that the remastered duology may be preparing for more platform adaptations.
According to a recent rating by the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB), the game “Resident Evil Origins Collection” appears to be making its way to both Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch. Notably, it’s already available on the latter. The listing implies that we might see this game on Xbox Series X/S soon, but whether a PlayStation 5 version will follow remains unclear.
It’s worth noting that Resident Evil isn’t just the current release being prepped for a re-release; even Resident Evil 6 has received an Xbox Series X/S rating from the ESRB. You can learn more about it through this link.
