Resident Evil Requiem Impressions Reveal New Stalker is Unkillable, Intelligent, and Hungry

Over the course of the Resident Evil series, some truly memorable stalker-style adversaries have emerged. For instance, Mr. X from Resident Evil 2, Nemesis in Resident Evil 3, Lady Dimitrescu in Resident Evil Village, and many more. In Resident Evil: Vengeance, a new stalker character is introduced, and it’s arguably the most unsettling of them all.

Content producers and broadcast platforms have had a chance to explore a 30-minute demonstration, featuring the game’s interchangeable first and third-person views. As Xbox Wire mentions, they were also introduced to the colossal beast hinted at in the trailer teaser. Known as something so towering it must bend to pass through doorways, it feasts on an infected body before pursuing Grace through the facility. This creature has been likened to Alien: Isolation, given its intelligence.

As it hunts for you, it catches scents in the air, destroys any hiding spots, and has the ability to climb through ceiling holes, making you fearful it could pop up anywhere. In a specific situation, if you run into a side room and close the door, the creature shuts off the lights and disappears, giving the impression that it’s content to let the tension grow rather than breaking through violently.

Breaking a bottle near the wall startles it, but whether this frightens it because of the noise isn’t clear. Even though it appears that Grace might be on the verge of escaping, the creature seizes and carries her off. The subsequent events remain uncertain, but maybe we’ll discover what happens when Requiem is demoed at Gamescom in August.

On February 27th, 2026, you can get your hands on the complete version of the game for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and personal computers. Keep an eye out for further updates in the meantime.
