Resident Evil Requiem is taking us back to Raccoon City when it launches next February

For the past few years, Capcom has been experiencing incredible success, particularly with the Resident Evil series. The company is now working hard to maintain this momentum by developing Resident Evil 9.

As a dedicated fan, I can’t contain my excitement! At Summer Game Fest 2025, Capcom unveiled a thrilling revelation: the next installment in our beloved Resident Evil series is titled “Resident Evil Requiem” and will be available on February 27, 2026. I simply can’t wait!

The film commences with a shot of a man strolling through a bustling workplace, eventually reaching FBI Agent Grace Ashcroft’s desk area.

The movie starts off with a scene of a man navigating a crowded office until he arrives at FBI Agent Grace Ashcroft’s workspace.

Both sentences convey the same information in an easy-to-understand manner.

I’m reaching out to you, Ashcroft, because I’ve got some troubling news. Another suspect seems to have surfaced in our ongoing investigation, and I believe your expert eye would be invaluable at the crime scene.

It appears that Grace is experiencing vivid memories or flashbacks related to the Remwood Hotel, the place where her mother was tragically killed eight years prior.

In the scene that follows, it appears that Grace is having trouble freeing herself from a device which has her suspended upside-down.

In a chilling tone, a voice reveals, “It is clear to me now that you are the one I’ve long sought. The exceptional one, the selected one, Miss Ashcroft.

Afterwards, disturbing images of decayed and mostly deserted Raccoon City appear, including hideous creatures lurking in the dark corners.

It looks really good, and we can’t wait to return to Raccoon City once more.

Capcom has been on a roll recently

For about ten years, Capcom has introduced a remarkable collection of Resident Evil video games that have garnered both widespread critical praise and significant financial success, whether they were brand-new installments or remastered versions of previous games.

2017 marked the release of Capcom’s Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, a game that rekindled the survival-horror genre following criticisms of its predecessor, Resident Evil 6, for being too action-oriented.

2019 saw the release of a reimagined version of Resident Evil 2, followed by another remake of Resident Evil 3 in 2020. After introducing Resident Evil Village in 2021, the company subsequently launched a revamped edition of Resident Evil 4 in 2023.

It’s been announced that Resident Evil 9 will be released for the Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, and PlayStation 5 sometime in the year 2026.
