Resident Evil Re:Verse is Shutting Down on June 29th

Capcom’s poorly received multiplayer game titled “Resident Evil Re:Verse” will soon cease operation. It will no longer be available for purchase on digital storefronts starting March 3rd, 9 PM Pacific Time, and the servers will close permanently on June 29th, 11:59 PM Pacific Time. After March 3rd, it won’t come bundled with “Resident Evil Village” anymore.

Additionally, character and beastly skins, along with the Premium Pass and RP Boosters, will no longer be available for purchase. However, those who currently own these items can continue to use them as long as the servers are operational. Please note that once the servers close, these items will lose their functionality and any associated rewards from the Premium Pass will be nullified.

Concerning the conclusion of Re:Verse’s service, Capcom stated that it was created to honor the 25th anniversary of the Resident Evil series. The game has received an unprecedented level of support from fans since its launch, surpassing their initial expectations. Now, they believe that Re:Verse has reached a significant milestone for the series and has effectively fulfilled its original, commemorative role.

On Steam, the player numbers for Re:Verse paint an unflattering picture. According to SteamDB, it reached a low point of 2,115 concurrent players and has been in double digits since December 2022. At this very moment, only 18 players are online, which is quite striking. It’s even more surprising that the servers have managed to stay up for so long given these numbers.

Resident Evil Re:Verse is available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC.
