As a devoted fan who’s been through the rollercoaster of emotions with Typhoon Studios’ Savage Planet series, I must say, my heart skipped a beat when I heard about the sequel, “Revenge of the Savage Planet.” After the initial shutdown and subsequent resurrection of the studio, there was a lingering uncertainty in the air. But now, with the official announcement during Gamescom Opening Night Live pre-show, it feels like we’ve finally found our long-lost intergalactic adventure buddy!
As a gamer, I was worried about the future of “Journey to the Savage Planet” when its developers, Typhoon Studios, shut down in 2021. But luckily, they reformed later that year and recent reports have given me hope. Now, I’m thrilled to know that a sequel has officially been announced! During the Gamescom Opening Night Live pre-show, developer Raccoon Logic revealed “Revenge of the Savage Planet”. I can hardly wait to explore this new adventure!
With the same hilarious wit as its previous installment, Revenge of the Savage Planet invites players to join another thrilling journey on a challenging alien world. This time around, not only can you experience the new storyline alone, but also with friends via online co-op and splitscreen. Cross-platform play is available, ensuring seamless gaming across devices, while there will be no digital rights management (DRM) or microtransactions to worry about.
Tomorrow, during the Xbox Gamescom stream (August 21), we’ll unveil a complete gameplay demonstration! Keep an eye out for further updates in the near future.
