The news about Tom Holland and Zendaya getting engaged could very well be the most significant milestone in their relationship yet.
Apart from this significant moment, there are others that fans will remember fondly. In celebration of the couple’s next chapter in their love story, it seemed fitting to recall another heartwarming Tomdaya memory: when they battled it out on Lip Sync Battle.
In the memorable 2017 episode, Zendaya and Tom, who initially met during auditions for their 2017 film “Spider-Man: Homecoming” before publicly acknowledging their relationship in 2021, delivered outstanding performances.
To begin the spectacular performance, the actress from the renowned series “Euphoria” transformed almost beyond recognition, donning Bruno Mars’ attire to sing his smash hit “24K Magic”. She sported a short-haired wig, oversized sunglasses, a large hat, and a coordinated shirt-and-shorts ensemble. Her dance moves were equally captivating, with Zendaya playfully showering Tom with fake dollar bills at one point.
However, even though the Emmy award-winning individual, who flaunted a diamond ring on that particular finger at the 2025 Golden Globes on Jan. 5 (a day prior to their engagement news surfacing), undeniably impressed the audience of Lip Sync Battle, it was Tom who ultimately emerged victorious with his medley performance combining Gene Kelly’s “Singing in the Rain” and Rihanna’s “Umbrella”.
In the movie “The Crowded Room”, the lead actor left spectators astonished as he donned a corset top, sequined shorts, and fishnet stockings to deliver an alluring dance number involving an umbrella. The applause reached fever pitch when he concluded his breathtaking performance by dancing in the rain, ending up soaked on the floor for his climactic pose.
Ever since that memorable event, I’ve noticed an increase in fan appreciation for my outstanding performances. It seems my audience finds them particularly praiseworthy.
In a conversation with Entertainment Weekly in 2022, the 28-year-old admitted that performing on Lip Sync Battle has occasionally caused some embarrassment. He receives more praise for his rain dancing in fishnets than any other performance he’s given.
Furthermore, at 28 years old, just like Zendaya, it’s no wonder she received such attention. Since she openly acknowledges that her partner truly deserved the victory.
“He did so good,” she told MTV UK in 2018. “I was like, ‘OK, you can give it to him.'”
