Rey Fenix Blasts AEW for Alleged “Inhumane Treatment”

As a long-time follower and admirer of AEW, I have to say that the recent developments surrounding Rey Fenix are truly disheartening. Being a gamer who has spent countless hours watching wrestling matches, his high-flying antics and dynamic partnership with his brother Penta made them one of my favorite tag teams. Their feuds, especially with the Young Bucks, were epic and unforgettable.

Previously crowned multiple times as AEW’s Champion, Rey Fenix is shedding light on his experiences within AEW, hinting at perceived unfair treatment by the organization.

Over the past few days, Fenix has been active on X, publishing multiple updates. On December 7th, he wrote, “One doesn’t remain in a place where they are subjected to inhumane treatment.” Some fans have pondered whether the timing coincides with the extension of Fenix’s AEW contract earlier this year, which included injury time.

He continued to air his frustration, claiming he needed a doctor for “months” and received no help. He also spent the morning responding to a report from Dr. Chris Featherstone of the Pancakes and Powerslams podcast. He noted that he can’t speak out now due to contractual obligations but will do so in time.

Just after Pentago Jr., Fenix’s elder brother and one-half of Lucha Bros., showed up in AAA, social media buzzed with activity. For quite some time now, various reports have been circulating that suggest Pentago is planning to join WWE. In a recent ring address, he acknowledged the crowd and mentioned he needed some time to ponder a significant career choice.

As a die-hard wrestling fan, I can’t help but marvel at the legendary duo that is the Lucha Bros. Their fame and influence extend beyond Mexico’s borders, making them standouts in any ring they step into. From day one, they were original members of AEW, and their tenure with the company has been nothing short of epic.

Approximately a year ago, he suffered an arm injury that required him to take a break from wrestling. This latest injury kept him out of action for six months starting from October of the previous year. During that period, he was the AEW International Champion, which was his first singles title in AEW. His last match with AEW took place in July, where he defeated Tony Nese during the AEW Collision event.
