On Instagram Stories on December 26th, Bronwyn expressed her hope that everyone celebrating had a joyful Christmas. A month earlier, her father, who suffers from Alzheimer’s, had fallen and fractured his pelvis, placing an immense burden on her mother who, for nearly ten years, has chosen to care for him single-handedly.
The 39-year-old expressed that she suspected something was wrong when her mother found it difficult to handle daily tasks and grew increasingly tired and weak.
Bronwyn shared that about three decades back, her mother experienced symptoms much like dizziness, confusion, and exhaustion, which were identical to those of a brain tumor she eventually discovered had. She detailed how on an especially weak day, she traveled to California to be with her parent. Upon arrival from the airport, they received the disappointing yet not entirely unexpected news.
Based on Bronwyn’s account, it appears that her mother was diagnosed with a brain tumor in almost the same spot where she had one about three decades earlier. This diagnosis required an urgent medical procedure during the holiday season.
Bronwyn mentioned that she had spent the entire afternoon and even Christmas Eve at the emergency room with her mother. She anticipates that it will take quite some time, possibly a long recovery period, for her mom to return to her typical vibrant and remarkable state.
She expressed, “I’m feeling quite anxious and concerned, yet I know my mom has assisted countless individuals throughout her life. It’s a privilege to be in a position where I can lend a hand.
Despite being in the hospital, which meant missing Christmas with her husband Todd Bradley and daughter Gwen, Bronwyn managed to have some special moments with her father and one of his caregivers. In her words, “It’s fortunate that we could get a pizza delivery for three on Christmas Eve night!
