As a seasoned movie enthusiast who’s seen his fair share of productions, I must say that the cast and crew assembly for “The Thursday Murder Club” is nothing short of astounding! The mere presence of Steven Spielberg on set, coupled with the likes of Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, and Richard Osman himself, promises a cinematic experience that will surely leave audiences spellbound.
Production for “The Thursday Murder Club” is officially in full swing, with filming now starting on the upcoming Netflix movie.
Based on the popular book written by Richard Osman, there’s been a flurry of images circulating showcasing the renowned cast members – and now, Netflix has released an image that raises the bar even higher.
Alongside stars such as Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Celia Imrie, and Ben Kingsley, Richard Osman recently took a photo with director Chris Columbus and none other than the renowned Steven Spielberg.

Speaking of Spielberg’s activities on set, it’s due to the fact that his film production company, Amblin Entertainment, is responsible for the movie adaptation of Osman’s book.
Last Thursday, Osman posted a photo showing him alongside Steven Spielberg, standing before a church. On X, he captioned it as follows: “At the filming location for #TheThursdayMurderClub – Steven Spielberg greets a contest winner.”
Filming for the upcoming Netflix movie commenced in July, and let me tell you, the main cast is nothing short of stellar. However, that’s not all! It has been confirmed that Jonathan Pryce (from The Two Popes), Naomi Ackie (known from Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker), David Tennant, Daniel Mays, and Henry Lloyd-Hughes are also set to join the cast.
In the initial installment of Osman’s Thursday Murder Club book series, the upcoming movie is set to bring to life the cherished story about four seniors who take delight in solving mysteries. However, their usual pastime takes an unexpected turn when they become entangled in a genuine, ongoing case, causing complications.
The Thursday Murder Club series isn’t wrapping up on Thursdays anytime soon, as the book franchise is growing further. Osman has announced that work on book five is already in progress, indicating that he’s quite busy with writing and television work at present.
At this moment, the release date for Thursday Murder Club remains undisclosed, however, with further shooting on the horizon, we’re excited about the abundance of photos and sneak peeks into the crime-solving team’s adventures that are soon to be unveiled – we can hardly wait!
The Thursday Murder Club is yet to confirm a release date.
