The eighth season of “Rick and Morty” on Adult Swim has progressed halfway through its episodes, and a sneak peek at the upcoming installment hints at a fresh space heist. So far in Season 8, the show seems to be laying the groundwork for a new normal, with Rick and Morty once again embarking on their zany escapades following the events of the past three seasons. However, as we move into the second half of this season, it appears that the animated series may have much more grand adventures in store before it concludes.
In last year’s unveiling of Rick and Morty Season 8, we got a sneak peek at an animatic hinting that the duo would embark on a vessel filled with sleepers, and it also suggested Rick was cooking up a new scheme to swipe some valuable resources. Now, in the upcoming Episode 5 of Rick and Morty Season 8, this animatic will become reality as the trailer for the episode delivers on that original tease by showing us what Rick and Morty have secretly boarded this new ship to pilfer. Take a look at it below, as shared by @swimpedia on X.
Don’t forget to watch the latest episode of Rick and Morty Season 8, titled “Cryo Mort a Rickver”, airing on Adult Swim this Sunday, June 22nd at 11:00 PM.

How to Watch Rick and Morty Season 8 Episode 5
Title for “Rick and Morty” Season 8 Episode 5 is “Cryo Mort a Rickver,” set to air on Adult Swim this Sunday, June 22nd at 11:00PM ET. The sneak peek suggests that the duo discovers a ship carrying a material Rick covets for stealing. However, with sleeping passengers aboard and the series’ usual chaos, it seems unlikely they can make off with their loot unnoticed.
I’ve been following the wild escapades of Rick and Morty so far in Season 8, and it seems like another thrilling journey is on the horizon for these two. In Episode 4, they teamed up for an adventure for the first time this season (and marked Jerry’s return to the storyline), but as we move forward into the second half of the new season, I can only imagine that their partnership will evolve further. It remains to be seen how things unfold for them and where they might stumble along the way.
What’s Coming Next for Rick and Morty?
As a fanboy myself, I can’t help but express my excitement for more of Rick Sanchez’s iconic antics! When asked about potential developments for Rick in upcoming episodes, Ian Cardoni shared his thoughts with ComicBook, emphasizing the importance of preserving what makes this character so beloved while amping up the fun factor. He hinted that we can expect to hear more burps this season as the talented newcomers have been given greater creative freedom in the cosmos compared to their earlier stints on Rick and Morty during Season 7. In essence, Cardoni is suggesting a perfect blend of the craziest, most absurd adventures, heartwarming storytelling, and, yes, you guessed it, burps and bathroom humor – a winning combination if you ask me!
We don’t know yet what awaits us in Rick and Morty Season 8 since we’ve reached its midpoint, but this is an exciting position to be in! As the series progresses, it’s hinting at something larger as it establishes a more detailed new status quo. With each episode, it seems to be laying the groundwork for longer narratives that will unfold across future seasons.
